Leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abejukolo Ward One of Omala Local Government Area, Kogi State, have rallied for unity and intensified grassroots mobilisation as preparations gather momentum for the 2027 general elections.

The call formed the thrust of a stakeholders’ meeting convened and hosted by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government Administration, Hon. Arome Alfa, in his capacity as the Abejukolo Zonal Leader of the party.

The meeting, tagged “Unity of Purpose,” held on Saturday, drew a large turnout of party leaders and functionaries from across the ward and the local government, underscoring what participants described as a renewed spirit of cohesion within the party.

Among dignitaries present were the Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Atuluku Victor Levi; the member representing Omala State Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Umar Yahaya; the Executive Chairman of Omala LGA, Hon. Edibo Ameh Mark Peter; and the former council chairman, Hon. Ibrahim Yakubu Aboh, who currently serves as Special Adviser on Environment.

Also in attendance were the Kogi East APC Zonal Women Leader, Hon. Baby Alaji; the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Joseph Ocholi Oyibo; and the Special Adviser to the council chairman on Economy, Hon. Abuh Halimat Grace, alongside ward executives, polling unit leaders, political appointees and party supporters.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Alfa expressed appreciation for the overwhelming response, describing it as evidence that the long-sought unity among APC leaders in Omala had been largely achieved. He also commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for what he termed impactful governance and developmental strides across the state, particularly in Omala LGA.

He urged party faithful to consolidate on the prevailing unity and work assiduously to deliver decisive victories for the APC in forthcoming elections.

“We are in an electioneering period, and this is the time to redouble our efforts. Abejukolo Ward One must deliver block votes for the APC as a mark of appreciation for the governor’s support to our people,” he said.

The APC chieftain appealed to aggrieved members to remain patient and committed to the party, stressing that internal disagreements should not undermine collective goals. He added that the stakeholders’ meeting would become a regular engagement platform and would be extended to other wards and zones within the local government.

Other speakers at the event, including the commissioner, the lawmaker, and the council chairman, commended Alfa’s initiative, describing the meeting as timely and strategic. They urged other wards to emulate Abejukolo Ward One’s example of unity and coordination.

The speakers also cautioned against acts capable of breeding disunity within the party, noting that leaders had resolved to close ranks and work in synergy ahead of the elections.

Deliberations at the meeting focused on grassroots strategies for mobilising voters across polling units, with participants expressing confidence in the party’s electoral prospects.

In a communiqué issued at the end of the session, stakeholders resolved that the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the continued leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in 2027 remained a top priority for the party in the local government area.

The meeting ended on a convivial note, with attendees also partaking in Sallah celebrations hosted by the convener, further reinforcing the atmosphere of unity and camaraderie among party faithful.
