The Special Adviser to the Governor of Kogi State on Heritage and Eco-Tourism, Hilarioncollins Attai Musa, has commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo over what he described as a bold and forward-looking approach to economic development, as exemplified by the ongoing Kogi Airport project.

Speaking to journalists in Lokoja, the state capital, the governor’s aide described the airport initiative as a “game-changer” capable of redefining the economic landscape of the state and positioning it as a strategic hub for tourism, commerce and investment.

According to him, the project underscores the administration’s appreciation of critical infrastructure as a driver of sustainable growth and long-term prosperity.

“The Kogi Airport project goes beyond being a mere infrastructural development. It is a visionary investment designed to unlock vast economic opportunities, stimulate tourism and attract both local and international investors,” he said.

He noted that Governor Ododo has, through the initiative, demonstrated purposeful leadership and a firm commitment to the economic advancement of the state.

The Special Adviser further explained that the airport, when completed, would improve accessibility to Kogi State’s numerous cultural heritage assets and eco-tourism destinations, thereby boosting visitor traffic and creating employment opportunities for residents.

He added that his office remains committed to supporting the administration’s development agenda, particularly in harnessing tourism as a viable tool for economic diversification and global visibility.

While calling on stakeholders, investors and the people of the state to key into the vision, Prince Musa stressed the need for collective support to fully realise the benefits inherent in the project.

Observers say the airport project, if delivered as planned, could significantly enhance Kogi State’s connectivity and open up new frontiers for trade and tourism in the North Central region.
