In a significant political realignment ahead of the 2027 general elections, a pro-Faleke support group, the Faleke Youth Vanguard, has declared total support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, while announcing the collapse of its political structure into the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

The group said its decision followed a directive from its principal, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, signalling a firm alignment with the leadership of the ruling party at both national and state levels.

The declaration, made at a well-attended gathering in Lokoja, drew key political figures and party stakeholders, underscoring what observers described as a growing consolidation within the APC in Kogi State.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Ododo praised Faleke as a committed and selfless leader who has continued to invest in the welfare of the people, noting that his support reflects a deep sense of responsibility and statesmanship.

He urged citizens to remain united and committed to the collective progress of the state, stressing that governance thrives on cooperation and shared vision.

“We must agree to work together as one family. We must sit at the table to examine our challenges and proffer joint solutions—not for personal interests, but for the overall development of our dear state,” Ododo said.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and grassroots engagement, calling on political aspirants to connect meaningfully with the people.

Ododo also commended President Tinubu for what he described as sustained federal support to Kogi State, particularly in infrastructure development, citing ongoing work on the Lokoja-Abuja road. He assured the President of the loyalty and continued backing of the people of the state.

In his remarks, Chairman of the Forum of Senior Special Assistants, Hon. Bode Adeyemi, described the Faleke Youth Vanguard as a formidable political bloc, noting that its integration into the APC would further strengthen party cohesion and grassroots mobilisation.

Similarly, the National Chairman of the group, Hon. Kehinde Alamo, lauded the Ododo administration for delivering visible development across the state, attributing the prevailing political stability to the governor’s inclusive leadership style.

He reaffirmed the group’s commitment to mobilising support for both Tinubu and Ododo in 2027, pledging that members would canvass votes across the 21 local government areas of the state.

Alamo further disclosed that Hon. Faleke had not only endorsed Governor Ododo’s re-election bid but had also pledged full support for the administration, describing the move as a demonstration of party loyalty and unity.

The Women Leader of the group, Salihu Nana-Aisha, commended the governor’s humility and people-oriented approach, assuring him of sustained support from women across the state.

Also speaking, APC Youth Leader in Lokoja, Buhari Lokoja, described Ododo’s leadership as exemplary and result-driven, pledging continued youth support for the administration.

Other stakeholders, including Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, Hon. Deedat Ozigi, Hon. Abdullahi Bello, and Hon. Wemi Jones, praised Faleke’s alignment with the Ododo administration, noting that the growing unity within the party would serve as a catalyst for accelerated development across Kogi’s three senatorial districts.

Political watchers say the development marks a strategic move to solidify APC’s structure in the state ahead of 2027, with increased grassroots mobilisation and internal cohesion expected to shape the party’s electoral fortunes.
