Special Adviser to the Kogi State Governor on Environment, Hon. Yakubu Ibrahim Aboh, has congratulated Chief Labaran Yahaya Oyigebe on his conferment with a prestigious traditional title in the Igala Kingdom.

Chief Oyigebe was recently honoured with the title Akọhiaka Ata – Ede by the Ata Igala at Idah, the ancestral headquarters of the kingdom.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Hon. Aboh described the recognition as a fitting tribute to Oyigebe’s years of dedication to the promotion and preservation of Igala culture and history.

He noted that the honour reflects the high regard the traditional institution holds for individuals who have contributed meaningfully to the sustenance of the people’s heritage.

According to him, Oyigebe’s work in documenting and projecting the history and traditions of the Igala people has helped in strengthening cultural identity and ensuring that future generations remain connected to their roots.

“This recognition speaks to the value of your commitment and service to our cultural advancement,” Aboh said, adding that the title comes with greater responsibility in safeguarding the customs and traditions of the land.

The Adviser further expressed confidence that the honour would spur the recipient to continue his efforts as a custodian of Igala heritage.

He also extended his goodwill to Chief Oyigebe and his family, wishing him wisdom, strength and greater accomplishments in his service to humanity and the kingdom.

The conferment ceremony, which held in Idah, drew dignitaries, cultural enthusiasts and members of the community who gathered to celebrate what many described as a deserving honour.
