The Special Adviser to the Kogi State Governor on Youth Mobilization, Hon. Arome Alfa has convened a high-level meeting of stakeholders in Abejukolo Ward 1, Omala Local Government Area of Kogi State, to fine-tune mobilisation strategies for the All Progressives Congress.

The meeting, held at his residence in Abejukolo, the headquarters of Omala LGA, attracted key party officials and grassroots leaders, including the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Joseph Oyibo; the Supervisory Councillor for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Hon. Noah Godwin Adaji; the Protocol Officer, Hon. Elder David C. Musa; the Liaison Officer, Hon. Abubakar Yusufu; the Ward Special Assistant, Hon. Isah Hussein; leaders of the 25 polling units in the ward, and other stakeholders.

Discussions at the meeting centred on party consolidation, mobilisation and sensitisation ahead of ongoing and forthcoming political activities of the APC in the area.

Speaking at the meeting, Hon. Alfa identified four priority issues, beginning with the ongoing APC e-registration exercise. He urged stakeholders to intensify mobilisation and sensitisation at the grassroots, describing the exercise as critical to strengthening the party’s structure.

The local government supervisor on APC e-registration, Hon. David C. Musa, briefed the meeting on the modalities and requirements of the exercise, stressing the need for early production and circulation of registration forms to fast-track the process. Over 3,000 forms were reportedly produced and distributed to the 25 polling units through their leaders, with assurances of support from the Secretary to the Local Government, the supervisory councillor for agriculture and the incoming councillor. Hon. Alfa also pledged his full backing for the exercise.

On the Continuous Voters Registration, the Governor’s aide said the second phase had been approved by the Independent National Electoral Commission with the rotation of IVED machines across wards. He called on party members and stakeholders to cooperate with INEC officials to ensure a smooth exercise, while pledging his support. Hon. Adaji also briefed participants on a stakeholders’ meeting recently held with INEC on the CVR.

The meeting further discussed preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections, including support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, as well as the 2026 re-election bid of the Omala Local Government Chairman, Hon. Edibo Ameh Mark Peter.

Hon. Alfa charged stakeholders to embark on aggressive door-to-door mobilisation and voter sensitisation across the ward, promising to support the initiative. He also called for unity among party members in Omala LGA, saying sustained cooperation was key to electoral success.

Responding, the Secretary to the Local Government, the supervisory councillor for agriculture, the Ward Special Assistant and the Liaison officer commended Hon. Alfa for convening the meeting and for his contributions to the party and the community, urging him to remain steadfast, as his efforts were already gaining recognition in Omala politics.

The governor’s aide also used the occasion to commend the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for what he described as the administration’s deliberate focus on Omala Local Government Area. He said sustained peace had returned to previously war-prone communities through the governor’s interventions, creating an enabling environment for development. He further expressed appreciation to the governor for the ongoing construction of the Abejukolo township road, noting that the project would ease movement, boost economic activities and improve the living conditions of the Omala people.
